Demand for Guar Gum increases as prices remain stable

Price of Guar Gum has remained within a manageable rate for a while now and is attractive to old and new users. Although the price has recently risen, further volatility is expected around 15 April 2014.

On 15 April 2014 the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) will declare the long-term monsoon forecast. As mentioned in my last report, the predictions aren’t expected to be favourable.

Supplies of Guar Seeds have been constant for the past couple of weeks and comfortably fulfilling all requirements. As mentioned above, monsoon predictions are eagerly awaited.

After the long weekend off for the ‘Festival of Colours’ also known as ‘Holi’, the markets opened stronger. Clients within the food industry are returning and demand from China is constantly increasing. With Guar Gum now being one of the cheapest Hydrocolloids, cheaper than Xanthan Gum and CMC, its popularity is once again rising.
